Mooring System Installations New or supplemental moorings using driven anchors or deadweight anchors. USMS advocates the use of Seaflex for most mooring applications. The elasticized members provide continuous tension that stabilizes the dock and reduces the response to waves and surge.
Installation of dock systems USMS has, for a number of years, installed, set-up infrastructure and removed the dock systems for many marine based boat shows. Portable docks, Helix anchors and Seaflex hausers make for rapid deployment year after year. Long term dock systems allow a less harried approach. Through our team of experts, we provide engineering design, fabrication, and installation of a new marina or remodeling of existing marinas.
Pump-out systems With the increasing pressure to reduce the entry of waste materials to our lakes, rivers, and oceans, the installation of pump-out systems at marinas is gaining favor (required in California). USMS assists clients with the choice of systems to match with marina activity. From single-boat holding tanks to multiple-slip hydrant installations that provide convenient service to each slip from a central pumping system which discharges into the local sewer lines. Installation activity typically causes no disruption of tenants’ peaceful enjoyment at their slips.
Supplemental Buoyancy Older marinas, particularly those with wooden dock construction and unsealed Styrofoam buoyancy members, tend to find that the foam gradually degrades, cells breakdown and the docks sag. USMS can add encapsulated foam members beneath the dock to restore the freeboard of the dock and level the entire dock system.

Underwater Inspection Underwater inspections of structural components, piping, bottom conditions, anchor systems, and ship hulls can be performed with a full report, photographs where water conditions permit, and video when appropriate. Sampling of painted surfaces, soil samples, or recovery of objects, and minor repairs may be made.
